Incubate Experimental Printmaking is a recently established collaborative printmaking workshop, designed to support artistic development, for one to one technical tuition and group classes.
The emphasis in this space is on trying things out for the first time, whether it be some kind of experiment or a whole new technique. Technical support is always on hand here, allowing the artist more scope for creativity. Whether you want to work for a few hours or a few days, a programme can be tailored to suit your needs.
The workshop is run by printmaker and artist Nick Christie. Nick completed his BA honours degree in Fine Art at Northumbria University in 2011. He then stayed on to complete his year long Graduate Fellowship in Printmaking with master printmaker Alfons Bytautas. Since then he has been gaining knowledge in techniques to share with other artists as they develop themselves.
Techniques currently possible are screen printing, cyanotype photography, relief printing, collagraph, dry point etching and mono printing, with more on the way. The space currently holds a screen print bed, exposure unit, washout booth, drying racks and an etching press.
